Description
This vast abbey carries the name of a hermit who lived in the Boixe Forest in the 6th century. Founded in the 11th century by the counts of Angoulême, the abbey is a renowned place of Roman architecture in Charente. Numerous organised activities are programmed there all year round. Visit the 12th to 14th century church, the 12th to 14th century abbatial buildings (cloister, kitchen, refectory, storeroom), the crypt and 14th century wall paintings.
