The House is dedicated to the story of the Transporter Bridge and equipped by digital technologies to understand how it works, its place in France and around the world. Free visit. The "Maison du Transbordeur" is the Transporter Bridge visitor centre. It features digital resources and information about the history of the bridge and her place in France and around the world. Free entrance. The Transporter Bridge allows pedestrians and cyclists to cross the river between both side of the river Charente. The bridge was restored from 2016 to 2020. The visitor centre shows the highlights of the restoration in the exhibition "The transporter bridge, an exceptional building site". In 2024, a new exhibition will pay tribute to the engineer of the Transporter Bridge, Ferdinand Arnodin.
