The Royan Museum is located in the old Pontaillac market in the heart of a historic district of Royan. Its collections are presented in a way that allows the discovery of the rich past of the city of Royan. The Museum of Royan is located in the heart of Pontaillac, Royan historical area, in the old marketplace. Its collections are presented in a complete chronological order, allowing us to learn more about Royan’s rich history. The permanent collection is evolving around the following themes: - the origins of the Empire - Estuary : dangers and gardien angels - Sea bathing - The Second World War - The modern town - The cabinet of curiosities Each year a new temporary exhibit is presented in the museum central hall.
