13th "La Roche à Foucauld" Medieval Festival in the grounds of La Rochefoucauld Castle! Activities : Reconstruction of a fort, an encampment of knights with weapons and siege machinery, a cave village, an ancient games area, pony rides for children, an arts and crafts market with over 50 participants, demonstrations and introductions to old trades (pottery, calligraphy, stone cutting, rope making, minting, glass blowing, fabric dyeing, stained glass, sculpture, blacksmithing, bronze casting, wood turning, embroidery, etc.), and medieval weapons (archery, crossbow, axe throwing, combat, catapult, trebuchet, siege machinery, gunpowder weapons in black)..), and medieval weaponry (archery, crossbow, axe-throwing, combat, catapult, trebuchet, siege engines, black powder weapons, equestrian jousting, knightly tournaments....). Live shows and entertainment, falconry, acrobats, stunts, horse shows, fire shows... Fast food, refreshments, crêpes, pigs on the spit (booking required), fire show on Saturday evening. A host of troupes will be on hand to make sure you have an unforgettable time! Weekend programme : Saturday 20 July Parade through the streets of La Rochefoucauld in the late morning. The site opens to the public (at the château) at 12 noon. Continuous entertainment, games, craft market and shows. Fast food on site, refreshments, crêpes, ice creams... Great medieval meal in the evening: pig on the spit - BY RESERVATION. Fire show at night. Closes at 11pm. Sunday 21st July Opening of the site at 10am. Entertainment, games, craft market, continuous shows. Grand medieval meal: pig on the spit at midday - New for 2024! Reservations required. Fast food, refreshments, pancakes and ice creams... Visitors can visit the castle at a preferential rate (medieval festival pass + castle) for both days.
