The Musée d'Angoulême offers collections ranging from the palaeontology of the Charente to fine art and non-European art. The museum is accessed via a sunny garden at the foot of St Pierre's Cathedral in Angoulême. On the 3rd floor, you can admire a selection of paintings, sculptures and ceramics from the 16th century to the early 20th century, as well as works by artists from the Charente region. To enhance your visit, we offer a range of activities (tours, workshops, lectures, etc.) and aids to your visit, including games for younger visitors and olfactory terminals. NEW Museum 3.0: Come and discover or rediscover the permanent collections using films, virtual reality, augmented reality, serious games and enjoy a new presentation of the Agris helmet; each level has surprises in store for you. Surprise and curiosity guaranteed! Don't hesitate to ask for advice at reception if you don't want to miss out on any of these new digital tools, some of which will be accessible directly on the tour, others via a tablet. A visitor service is available for groups and individuals. Reduced rates and memberships for individuals, families and associations are available for events. Self-guided or guided tours for groups by appointment (8 to 25 people). Internet access in the documentation room. Free admission on the 1st Sunday of the month.
