Admire the beautiful views over the Charente valley. Visit the town's historic monuments. Start from the canoe-kayak reception area, Marchot site at the Hippodrome, follow the ditch. Follow the small Bois du Tapis and run alongside the ruisseau des Sept Fonts. At the entrance to the "Tapis", turn right into the Bois de Lugérat. This is a very fine dwelling (private). Drive carefully along the D114, then cross the D737 at the Calvaire crossroads, heading for La Fichère. There is a beautiful view over the Charente Valley. Go around the village of La Fichère to take the wooded path. You pass alongside the Sablières, former quarries. Return to the ruisseau des Sept Fonts for another fine view of the Charente valley. Go through La Fichère and at the exit you will see a wash-house. Take care as you leave the village on the D114. Take the wooded path back to the starting point.
