From the top of the surrounding hills, you will discover the village of Touvre and the church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, like a sentinel at the foot of which gushes the sources of the eponymous river. (1) Head towards the town hall overlooking the car park. Take the Rue des Gauchons before the level crossing. Leave it after 200m to take the Chemin des Vignes on the left. (2) After the tunnel, follow the path on the right, parallel to the railway at the start, and climb for 800 m, ignoring two path starts. (3) At the top of the hill, fork right to take the Chemin des Chaumes which goes down to the Rue des Gauchons after passing the railway. (4) Go to the left. Pass the place called les Varennes. At the next intersection, take Rue des Varennes on the left, which then turns right and immediately turns left into Route de Trotte-Renard. Continue to the next fork in the road. (5) Leave the road to follow the Chemin des Écureuils to the right. Turn left before the quarries. Go up towards the hamlet of Trotte-Renard. Leave the hamlet by the path on the right. (6) On the way down, turn left into the wood. Follow the white track at the edge of the wood which runs alongside the quarry for about 700 m. (7) In the coomb, leave the white path for the beautiful path lined with maples on the right which goes up to the hamlet of Peu Sec. Walk along the houses and go down to the RD 410. (8) Cross the road carefully to follow the path that climbs towards Les Champs. At the end of the hamlet, cross the RD 23 carefully and take the path going down. (9) Turn right after the Rochejoubert stream. (10) At the road, go up to the left on the Mont Gaudier path which joins the GR®. (11) At the crossroads, turn right, go straight on at the next crossroads, then follow the path on the right down to Touvre. Cross the D23 and continue straight on until you reach the Pontil road. Turn right to reach the town hall car park.
