A farm that has been producing asparagus for 25 years, with vegetables grown using integrated farming methods, some of which are sold direct from the farm. Marie and Christophe, who share their passion for their profession with us What are the prerequisites for growing asparagus? You need sandy, well-watered soil... and that's what we have, which is why we came up with the idea of asparagus. Twenty-five years ago, we started with one hectare, but today we have 12 hectares of asparagus! At the same time, we grow vines and table grapes in the autumn. Asparagus is a very seasonal crop, the harvest only lasts 3 months, but it's intense. It's a much-awaited and much-loved spring vegetable! Why did you choose direct sales and farm shops? It's a great way of promoting our product. In supermarkets - and we've been through them - everything has to be standardised to the centimetre, whereas farm shops put quality and taste before aesthetics. There's more authenticity and there's something for everyone! Estate sales : - Asparagus: from 15 March to 15 June every day from 8.30am to 7pm (closed on Sundays) Markets, fairs, shows: - The asparagus is sold under the brand name "Saveur de l'Estuaire", which can be found in several shops in the Royannais area. Products : March to June: Asparagus Autumn: Table grapes
