Les allées du Mail

Français Chien acceptés

A vast lawn with flower beds, surrounded by trees, borders the walkways, offering a pleasant walk for pedestrians and cyclists alike, just a few metres from the ocean. In the 16th century, the Mail was a vast meadow where parties and popular celebrations took place. During the following century, the people of La Rochelle played Mail (from the English Mail, a kind of croquet that was very fashionable in Europe at the time), hence its name.
