Discover the incredible adventure of La Cotinière: from the fish locks to the new harbour area! With a fleet of around a hundred small-scale fishing boats, La Cotinière is the leading fishing port in Charente-Maritime. More than 90 species of fish and shellfish are landed here every year, mainly noble species. During your visit, your guide will show you all the assets that make La Cotinière a constantly evolving port, such as the diversity of fishing areas and techniques, which change with the seasons. Tickets on sale online or direct from the various reception offices in the Marennes-Oléron area. How to find the guide Opposite the "Comptoir de la Mer" shop, turn left (pedestrian access only), follow the tarmac road past the roundabout with the anchor. Ignore the "no public access" signs and go through the rising barrier. Continue to the foot of the stairs. Your guide will be waiting there with a badge. Where can I park? - Quai René Delouteau car park (car park next to the chapel in place of the old fish market). Pay parking is available from 20 March to 11 November. Allow a 15-minute walk to reach the meeting point for tours. - Free grassed car park This car park is located at the corner of route des mourauds and rue du Colombier. It is a 15-minute walk from the meeting point. Please bring sun/rain clothing and accessories, and a bottle of water. Bicycles are not allowed in the port area. Cycle parking is available on the left just before the barrier leading down to the port. Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead. Reservations must be made at the Tourist Office. No reservations by telephone, no ticket office on site. Enjoy your visit!
