The Comptoir Saoufé is one of the most famous restaurants in La Rochelle, where local products and good mood are mixed together. But did you know that before becoming an Oyster Bar, run by Cyril and his team, the Comptoir Saoufé was in fact a Rum Bar. Going back in time 25 years... It was during a trip to Martinique that Nelly decided to create the Saoufé bar in the heart of La Rochelle. She fell in love with the friendliness of the Martinique people and opened a rum bar to share this culture with the people of La Rochelle. A place of life and entertainment, Saoufé, which means "How are you?" in Creole, became a mythical place in the Old Port of La Rochelle. In 2023, Jérémy, current owner of the Comptoir Saoufé, pays tribute to this place by perpetuating the good mood, the sharing and the conviviality of this place.
